Unapologetic Art for the Unheard and Unseen

Resistance through brush strokes.

Each piece, a voice rooted in memory, identity and belonging.

Welcome to my world! I am Nana Bellara, aka Najwa Iggoute, a mixed media artist and a doctoral researcher exploring Arab women's identities and narratives. This is a space where I share emotion, heritage and nostalgia. My art is a rebellion, drawing from fragments of identity, untold stories and echoes of the past. Each piece speaks to the unheard and unseen, drawing from a personal history as much as a political one. Deeply informed by my research into post colonialism, my art is both a reflection and a response - to colonised narratives, cultural erasure and the complexity of belonging. My art is about homecoming, resistance and reclamation.

My debut collection is nearly here - layered with reminiscence, history, identity decolonial resistance and Arab Muslim women narratives.
